Happy Monday Let'sTalkStylers! I'm here with a quickie Grammy style recap saluting the best and the worst of the red carpet rockers.
If you hadn't heard, this year the Grammy awards' hosting network instigated a war on side boob. CBS issued a preliminary wardrobe advisory to the attendees in order to avoid displays of side and under boobage, random nip slips, and other potential problems with the FCC.
Check out a few of my favorite regulations:
Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes, bare sides or under curvature of the breasts are all problematic. Please avoid exposing bare flesh under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible “puffy” bare skin exposure.
I wonder if they'd be cool with visible unpuffy bare skin in the genital region.
Rules and regulations aside, here are my top 3.
Rihanna was a vision of romance in her custom made Azzedine Alaia gown that was the perfect shade of crimson and the perfect length of train. Rule Broken -- Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples.
John Legend's lady love, model Chrissy Teigen pushed the envelope with class, baring a bit of midriff and a whole lotta leg in her black lacy Joy Ciocci gown. Lovin' the seaform clutch Chrissy.
Some say the country star played it safe, I say Carrie Underwood played it smart, a pure revelation in her strapless Roberto Cavalli gown paired with $31 million worth of Johnathon Arndt diamond jewelry.
J. Lo looked underwhelming in a satiny one shouldered black Snuggie, Lisa D’Amato made a rockabilly/Mad Hattress statement in her costume party frock, and Lila Downs made me wish that I was color blind with a two piece getup that looked like a Frida Kahlo painting threw up on her.
