No Apron Strings Attached

Since I tied the knot, I've been on a quest to become the quintessential wife. This involves whipping up tasty and nutritious home cooked meals at least thrice a week. Don't get me wrong, we are an equal opportunity household so we usually take turns with dinner detail, but trying out new and exotic recipes makes me feel quite accomplished when they aren't burnt tastes good, and having a warm dinner on the table after a tough day at work always seems to make my Captain smile.

I'm not crazy about cooking but I am crazy about clothes, so I recently discovered the secret to loving my kitchen and all of the cooking time that comes along with it. The super cute apron.

Wearing a pretty apron makes me feel retro cool in my kitchen, even if I'm burning making toast. I'm all June Cleaver/Zooey Deschanel with a spatula. Instead of slaving, I'm styling, and it puts me in the mood to mince, mix and marinate my way to mastering my marital duty.

I used to think that Anthropologie was the only place to score adorable aprons, but how super cute is this Jessie Steele Out to Sea Apron from Layla Grace? It's a vintage chic find that will keep me anchored in the kitchen in a nauty nautical way, and will give me the incentive I need to push my culinary talents beyond frozen fish sticks.

p.s. They have matching oven mitts too*
