It is time. Award season is upon us, and last night I had the chance to enjoy a relaxing prenatal foot rub from the babby daddy while taking in all of the glitz, glam and gorgeousness of the 71st annual Golden Globes. During the three hour presentation, 1/3 of which was taken up by Jacqueline Bisset's acceptance speech, I saw a majority of starlets who played it safe in basic strapless black gowns, yet there were a few risk takers who caught my eye. The envelopes please...

A - list

Amy Adams. I was enchanted with this simple yet stunning statement that just flowed down the red carpet. Amy evoked her award winning American Hustle character in a Halstonesque gown with a sexy plunging neckline that celebrated the last days of disco.

Lizzy Caplan: Aye aye Caplan. The Masters of Sex star proved that she also has a masters in styling in a crochet-inspired black gown that featured some seriously amazing embroidery and hardware, with a gorgeous neck and sleeved overlay by Emilio Pucci. Cool, interesting, corporal couture.

In my eyes, Kate Beckinsale can do no wrong. The ageless actress stunned in a sleeveless, gunmetal metallic gown by Zuhair Murad yet kept things edgy and imperfect with the low messy side bun look I had wanted for my wedding.

Other Winners: Cate Blanchett's Armani Prive black lace and tulle gown with plunging back was perfection, Wolf of Wall Street's Margot Robbie was simple and sleek in Gucci, and Emma Watson brought a hint of surprise with her Audrey Hepburn like slim black pants peeking under her orange/reddish Dior Couture gown.

Best & Worst Baby Bump

I'm preggers now, so I feel fully capable of judging this category. Rush/Her star and presenter Olivia Wilde made the most of her in utero accessory by showcasing it in a form fitting emerald green, silk, long-sleeved gown by Gucci Premiere. The metallic and emerald crystals made her shine from the neck down as much as her belly escort made her glow from the chin up. Oooh baby.

Whereas Olivia glamorized her knocked upedness, Drew Barrymore frumped hers all up, coming off like a cavity inducing confection that would be served at an Easter buffer. Her cream-colored Monique Lhuillier gown did nothing for her or her ever growing silhouette, complete with unflattering floral appliques that just made her look bigger and poofier.

J Law might have taken home a Golden Globe for her best supporting actress turn in American Hustle, but on the fashion front she only inspired a slew of silly lookalikes in her strapless, white Dior Haute Couture gown accessorized by a pair of black belts or two strips of washi tape, you be the judge.

I always look forward to seeing what Zoe Saldana will be surprising us with on the red carpet, but this season the Star Trek stunner left me wanting more in her black and pink accented gown by Prabal Gurung.

Robin Wright (who kinda played twinsies with Naomi Watts) looked statuesque in Reem Acra's gold-beaded halter gown, but experienced a fashion faux pas during her House of Cards acceptance speech by revealing some unfortunate side boob sticker action.

America's sweethearts might have turned out insane performances this year on the big screen, but on the red carpet their Golden Globe frocks earned themselves Fashion Police indictments. Sandra Bullock's Prabal Gurung color blocked gown was costumey, confusing, and the plunging neckline only highlighted the fact that gravity is not working for her, at least not on the bosom frontier.

Julia Roberts. Long time no see, Pretty Woman. Good news, I loved your Dolce & Gabbana gown from the bodice down. Not feeling the white Gap button down oxford you forgot to take off while you were getting your face put on and your hair did in the makeup chair.

Paula Patton. You are Robin Thicke's wife. You are gorgeous. You looked like your left side was being eaten up by a Georgia O-Keefe vagina painting. I no likey.
