Last night, Ellen Degeneres made history by posting a star-studded selfie snapped from the front row of the 86th Annual Oscar ceremony, a pic that quickly became the most retweeted tweet to ever crash Twitter. Last night also made Let's Talk Style history in that there wasn't a single gown/look that I despised, which could probably be attributed to the simple fact that Helena Bonham Carter and Tilda Swinton were no shows.
While most of the stars played it safe, (Best Actress nominees Amy Adams and Sandra Bullock were visions in strapless navy stunners), I gravitated (pun intended) to the ladies who went for the wow factor.
Without further ado, here is a rundown of my most fab foursome.

The It girl of this year's award season, Lupita Nyong'o was an angelic picture of perfection in her baby blue pleated Prada gown. The 12 Years a Slave Best Supporting Actress winner has graced her way down multiple red carpets and into our hearts, doing no wrong while inspiring us with her series of unpredictable looks, her Oscar gold winning smile and every carefully chosen detail.
A deep plunging neckline worked for Lupita and it worked just as well for our favorite California girl Kate Hudson, who was the epitome of Malibu Barbie goes glam in a custom silver showstopper gown by Atelier Versace that included a cape that added an extra element of structure and old Hollywood style drama.
Rounding out the top spots were Charlize Theron in an iconic black Dior complete with invisible nude straps to ensure against potential nip slips, and Jessica Biel (aka my huband's free sleep with celebrity pass) who was sleek and chic in an ultra form fitting silvery blush metallic accented strapless number from Chanel Couture. Honorable mention goes to ice Queen Naomi Watts in a white beaded cap sleeved sheath from Calvin Klein Collection.
