*Valentine's Day is over, so the potential of finding romantic presents, flowers, and chocolates at my home/office are gone.
*President's Day is over, so the daydreams of how I'll spend my upcoming paid days off are gone. Only 97 days until Memorial Day. [sigh]
*Fashion Week Fall 2012 is over, so the Lincoln Center tents are gone.
Yes, dear readers, I realize that I glazed right over this season of Fashion Week without a single post, youtube video, celebrity spotting, or snarky comment, thus, leaving all of you hungry fashionistas without an ounce of coverage. I'm sure you're wondering why.
Were my hands crushed in an unfortunate accident while retrieving a Kate Spade bracelet from the garbage disposal, leaving my fingers mutilated, misshapen and unable to type? No. Was I hit by a taxi on my way to the Charlotte Ronson show, à la Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember? Not even.
I was just in a state of depression because I couldn't make it to this season's collections, and yet it still went on without me. The nerve.
You don't know how difficult it is to have an inbox flooded with cool invitations like this [see below], only to know you'll never actually make it there to smell the fabric, hear the buzz of the fashion crowd, taste the free mod cocktails, see the models walk... and sometimes fall.
Oh well, the Spring 2013 collections are only 6 months away. Then, I might have the time and resources to jetset to NYC where I can be reunited with the fashion industry equivalent of Cary Grant.
I only have to wait 211 days...but who's counting?
