Just when I thought I was fully recovered from MB Fashion Week Swim, it is time for a new season to commence. I have hardly made a dent in my goodie bag skincare samples from the summer, yet six or so weeks have zipped by and the fashion world now has their sights set on spring with the Spring 2013 Collections making their debut in the Lincoln Center tents tomorrow, September 6th.
Sadly, I had to RSVP with a handful of disheartened regrets to a few choice shows but alas, I do not always have the diligence to jetset across the country to the city that never sleeps, especially now that I have a destination wedding to plan and have become a nervous nelly bride-to-be that never sleeps.
On the positive side, even though I will be unable to relish every look on the runway in the flesh, I can still partake in a few fashion week festivities from afar, starting with FNO.
If you haven't heard about FNO before now, you must not read my blog. Here's the scoop - Tomorrow night, fashion editors, stars, models, designers, fashionistas, bloggers and shopaholics alike will take to the streets, flooding stores in cities across the country and all around the world to experience fashion's most iconic extravaganza, now in its 4th year running.
Consider it a late night of style, shopping, sales, music, nibbles, libations and good times to be had by all (or anyone with a decent credit limit). It's a cool way for stores to get in on the Fashion Week frenzy by kicking off the new season and getting folks revved up about the arrivals that are soon to come.
Expect celebrity spottings, block parties, cupcakes, a bit of bubbly and mega sales at spots including Aventura Mall, the Design District, Bal Harbour, the Merrick Shops and Dadeland Mall.
Maybe I'll see you there. It's not like I'll be getting any sleep anyway.
