Let's Talk Stylish Oscar Gowns

with 0 Comments

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jennifer Lawrence tripped on the way to accept her Best Actress Oscar, host Seth McFarlane made a few tasteless jokes, get over it.

We're here to focus on the fashion, not the gossip, and I must say that I was pleased as champagne punch to have more fabs than fugs on my list of Oscar gowns that came out to shine for the 85th Annual Academy Awards.

Whether it was a tribute to James Bond or a salute to the periodic table of elements, a major metallic trend made it's way down the red carpet, with a respectful number of starlets choosing to glitter in gold and sparkle in severe silver sheaths. From Halle Berry in Versace to Naomi Watts in Armani Privé, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger, Nicole Kidman, and more A list actresses embraced the liquid sequin trend, bringing up the bling factor without any help from Neil Lane or Harry Winston.

Keeping it classy were Stacy Keibler (better known as George Clooney's sexier, taller half) in an ah-mah-zingly form fitted Naeem Khan gown and Best Actress nominee, Jessica Chastain, who looked better than a pretty penny, illiciting oohs and ahhs in her strapless copper hued Armani Privé masterpiece.

On the trashy front, real ex-housewife of Beverly Hills, Brandi Glanville, scored a win for indecent exposure with a cleavage baring bodice of her own design that was a sneeze away from turning Hollywood's most prestigious night into an after dark Skinemax special.

As for Best Supporting Actress winner, Anne Hathaway... You looked every bit the lady in your pink Prada gown, Tiffany jewels and Audrey Hepburn hair. I dreamed a dream that you concealed your lady parts with a pair of protective pasties.
